Lost your triathlon mojo?

Help, I’ve lost my mojo!.

After two straight years of solid (although inconsistent) Ironman training I found that I’ve completely lost my triathlon mojo.  I’m struggling to even hop on the bike, and as those who know me will attest, that’s not normal.  I have zero races on the calendar going forward and have no motivation to sign up for one… until this past weekend!

Mojo found!

The Grand Rapids tri was looking for volunteers to lead out each of the race leaders instead of just the overall leader.  Since I’m not racing I jumped at the chance to help out and escorted the female Olympic lead on the run course.  She wouldn’t need me until closer to 10, but I arrived early to watch the start of the various races, visit with friends, and help out where needed.  Not only did I have a blast, but watching my friends work hard and suffer inspired me to want to get out there… and do an aqua bike (running and I do not get along).

I spent last night researching races and tomorrow I head to the pool to test out my shoulder. With any luck I will be signed up for Michigan Titanium by the end of this week!

Volunteer!

If you’re struggling with motivation and don’t know what to do next, please volunteer at a local race.  Most races are in need of help and the atmosphere will most certainly stoke those competitive fires!
